So Techie- Memory Nest no. 48

Hello everyone!

When you  have pets, you may have experienced this: You are busy with doing something and your dog needs your attention. Because you are so engrossed in your task, you try to ignore their pleas for attention.  But your dog is so smart, she knows the best way to distract you.  So for her to solve her attention problem, she releases her secret weapon... she suddenly jumps into your lap (her surprise attack).  Problem solved. She has your full attention now.  My princess is so smart and cute, how can I ignore her now.  I love this picture of us where she tried and successfully had my full attention to her.  She even looks good pretending to use the keyboard!  Well for the Memory Nest Make it Monday no. 48, I present to you my techie doggie.  Hope you enjoy my take on the sketch!

Finishers!-Sketches in Thyme #169

Hello Everyone!

For the Sketches in Thyme # 169 challenge, I decided to use the photos from the recent fun run that I have joined with my co workers last September which was the Justice League Run.  We all had a lot fun wearing the DC comics inspired singlets.  Of course, I chose to wear Wonder Woman (girl power!). We all had an amazing time and at the same time participated in a healthy activity!  The one beside me is one of my closest officemate, Em.  Even though we were so tired (she ran for 10K, me for 3K only..:D), we still had the energy to smile and be wacky after the run. Hope you will enjoy my take on the layout!

Girls day out!-Stuck?! October 15 Challenge

Hello everyone!

It's almost the end of the month and I still have a lot of layouts to do so that I could de-congest my stash of pictures.  I am so glad that there are these challenge sites because it give me a reason to layout and also to motivate me to show to the world my art.  For this layout, I call this "Girls day out".  It's a picture taken during the time me, my "coutwin" (we're cousins but many would comment that we look the same like twins) and my mom went aboard the M.V. Logos Hope.  M.V. Logos Hope the world's largest floating library and bookstore that had docked in our city last May.  For a bookworm like, entering the ship is like entering into paradise!  There are a lot of books to choose from, whatever genre you may be into.  And the books are really affordable too!  The crews of the ship are from different parts of the world.  We all had a great day browsing the books (and buying some..hehe), touring the ship and of course, eating at their cafe where they served some very yummy ice cream.  It was also a great way bond with my mother and cousin.  The sketch I use is from the Stuck?! October 15 Challenge.  I hope you enjoy my layout!

Nifty Beauty-Let's Get Sketchy October week 3

Hello everyone!

I want to share to you my layout for the October week 3 challenge at Let's Get Sketchy.  I used a photo of me and my dog, Beauty.  She is the mother of my 3 other dogs.  A mix of Japanese-spitz, I have had her since 2008.  Of all my dogs, she is the most affectionate.  I can describe her as prim and proper (actually she acts like the queen of the household!).  She doesn't like to get dirty so every time I walk her around the neighborhood, she avoids muddy paths. When she is resting, she does not like to be disturbed by my other dogs (she growls when they are getting rowdy) but despite that she is a great mother.  She nurtures all her kids even if they are not puppies anymore.  She also has this sense of sympathy that every time I am feeling down, she just comes over to me and puts her head on my lap or feet, letting you know that she's always there.  I treasure every moment with her because unlike some people, she will always be there for you no matter what happens and does not expect something in return.  All she needs is a bit of your attention and of course your love and she will be happy.  For me, my queen Beauty is not only a pet but a part of my family.  I hope you enjoy my layout!

Wonder Woman - Scraptoberfest!

Hello Everyone!

I want to share to all of you my entry for the scraptoberfest by Challenge YOUrself, Scrap Our Stash, My Scraps and More and The Memory Nest.  I used my photo taken during the Justice League Run last September.  Lately, I have come to realize that I also need to be more active, to exercise more since I am not getting any younger anymore.  Good thing our company has this club wherein I would be able to indulge in running.  So when it was announced that there would be a fun run (justice league run), I did not hesitate to join it.  Their singlets were so cool, it was based on the DC superheroes! I mean, who wouldn't want to be a super hero right? The superhero I chose was of course Wonder Woman.  I had a lot of fun during the activity and I ran for 3K.  It was tiring but rewarding.  Not only did I had fun but also I had indulged in an activity that is beneficial to my health! So here is my picture, my souvenir for being wonder woman for a day!  I hope you enjoy my layout.

Selfie-Scrapmuch?

Hello Everyone!

With the emergence of many smartphones, taking pictures is now an easy thing to do.  I admit, sometimes when vanity strikes, I oftentimes takes selfies though I rarely post them in my facebook account.  Especially when I am bored in the office, I take a couple of selfies just for fun.  Anyways, I loved this two selfies of mine that I decided to print it and make it a subject in my layout. So for the Scrapmuch October challenge, I thought it would be great thing to use them.  I loved the combination of laces, flowers and doilies in my layout.  It clearly describes me, girly and sweet.  I do hope you all will enjoy my layout!

Her Royal Highness-Sketches in Thyme #168

Hey guys!

I want to share to you another layout featuring one of my doggies.  Her name is princess hence the title, her royal highness.  Her name fits so perfectly.  She is always poised and is never rowdy.  When she sleeps, she needs to sleep beside my mom and never on the floor.  When she thinks that I am always busy and is ignoring her, she climbs on my lap to be petted.  Especially when I am crafting (I oftentimes lose track of time when scrapbooking), she looks at me with those big doggie-eyes that I have no choice but to stop whatever I am doing and play with her.  I adore her so much and I know that she loves unconditionally... Anyways, here is my layout based on the Sketches in Thyme #168.  Hope you all like it!

Puppy Love-sketches in thyme #167

Hello everyone!

Taking the perfect photo of your dog is such an arduous task.  You have time your shot just in time he is facing the camera.  Especially if your dog is like my panda 'wonder' bear.  Although he looks just like an angel but trust me, he can be the most hyper puppy ever.  I was lucky enough to snap a photo of him while he was resting after running around the room and it was a perfect.  I love how fluffy and candid he looks in this photo that's why I had to make it a subject in one of my layouts! So here is my entry in the Sketches in Thyme for October featuring my ever spunky panda bear!

Man's best friend-Stuck?! October Challenge

Hello Everyone!

For this month, I am going to feature my pets as my subjects for my various layouts.  As a kid, I grew up having pets as my companions.  I am an only child and because my parents were busy at that time with our business, my pets became my playmates!  Until now, I always have a soft spot for them, especially dogs!  People who close to me knows how much I adore them.  I treat them as my babies!  Currently, I have four dogs, two males and two females.  All them have a mix breed of japanese spitz and maltese and I absolutely love them.  It really feels great when you get home after a long days work and they will welcome you enthusiastically!  I really believe that dogs can love you unconditionally and will always be there for you. So here's my layout based on the Stuck?! October Challenge.  Hope you enjoy them!

By the way, the subject in my layout is one of my pets.  When he was born, he used to have two black spots in his eyes, that is why I named him Panda Bear.  But as he grew the black spots disappeared.  :)

Work friends-Stick it Down October Challenge

Hello everyone!

Today I am sharing to you a layout I made based on the Stick it Down October challenge.  I used a lot of mini pictures taken when our Head Office colleagues visited us for the yearly audit of our branch.  After a stressful checking of various documents, we all decided to chill and bond for the night.  Since the both of them are from Manila, we decided to show them around some of the popular tourist spots in our city.   After a sumptuous dinner, we then proceeded to Tops in Busay, Cebu.  Tops is a beautiful place wherein it gives you an overlooking view of the whole city.  It's pretty cool at night too, the city lights is amazing.  We had a lot of fun, taking pictures and enjoying the cool air and for a while we were able to bond before they will go back to Manila.  I hope you all enjoy my layout! I loved using the laces and the pearl beads in my project and the doily just adds a nice touch.

Mermaids by the pool-GrandDiva's Creative Corner

Hello Everyone!

Today I am sharing to you a layout based on the September sketch from GrandDiva's Creative Corner.  The photos I used was taken during our Company outing wherein we had a chance to become a mermaid for a day.  Me and my officemate Quennie had a blast on becoming a mermaid for a few hours.  Admit it, we all had a secret wish to become a disney princess and I was so glad that even for a little moment I felt like I was princess Ariel.  Being a mermaid was not easy, we had a bit of a difficulty swimming while wearing the costume.  But despite the discomfort, it was still so worth it!  Hope you all enjoy my layout.

Be Yourself-LGS September week 1

Hello Everyone!

Weddings brings people together.  It reunites people and gives them the chance to catch up with their lives.  The photo in my layout was taken during the wedding of my high school classmate Glaiza. A bit of a background with my high school friends:  We all got together during our junior year and have been friends ever since.  They are the type of people who supports whatever we want and wherein we could all be ourselves and not be afraid of showing who we are.  They are the type of friends who would comfort you when you are down and rejoice with you when you are happy.  They will not be afraid of telling you are wrong and will always remind you to do the right thing.  I really really treasure them and will always remain in my heart always.  The sketch I used in making this layout is from the Let's Get Sketchy September week 1 challenge.  I hope you will enjoy my layout!

Good times! - stick it down september challenge

Hello Everyone!

So sorry for the last blog posts!  I have been so busy this past few weeks with regular day job that I haven't been able to create new layouts.  I am so occupied with various work stuffs right now that the Green day song "Wake me up when September ends" seems to be the perfect theme song of my life right now.  Anyways, I finally had a bit of free time that I had made this layout as a way to "de-stress" myself.  I really felt the need to do something not work-related to relax.  And although many would argue that creating scrapbook layouts is hard work but for me, it is the opposite.  Scrapbook making relaxes my mind and the satisfaction of seeing the finished work motivates me more.  So I made this layout based on the sketch from Stick it down.  This photo was taken during one of my get-together's with my high school besties.  I loved this photo of me because it shows my transformation from a nerdy-geeky high school kid to a more girly and a bit more confident person.  I know I have been able to overcome some of my insecurities from high school and when people comments on my improvement, it gives me happiness.  I don't want to say that my high school life bad because I also had great times.  In high school, I met my friends that encouraged me not to feel bad about myself.  I admit, I suffered a bit from bullying but then these friends of mine defended me and made me see the amazing things about me.  They were the one who supported me and made me stand up against the people who had tried to put me down and I am forever grateful to them for being in my life when I thought that I was alone.  So enough of my drama and here is my layout.  I hope you will enjoy my layout!

Keep Calm & Be Merry- Scrap Challenge YOUrself

Hello Everyone!

I think most of us would agree that one of the most anticipated holiday of the year is Christmas! Especially here in the Philippines where it is considered the longest holiday of the year.  I always look forward to celebrating it and the traditions that go with it.  As a kid, my family would always try to complete the nine-days dawn masses or as we call it "misa de gallo".  And after the mass we would always eat Filipino delicacies like the "puto maya and sikwate" ( puto maya is a sticky rice steamed with coconut milk and ginger while sikwate is a cebuano version of hot chocolate made from pure raw chocolate).  As I grew up and started working, Christmas time is also one of the most awaited event in the company (Bonus, bonus and bonus...:D).  But for me, the most important thing about Christmas is celebrating Christ's birth and sharing to others whatever blessings we may receive.  So for my entry in Scrap Challenge Yourself, I used my photo from one of our company's Christmas activity and I say, Keep Calm and Be Merry! I hope you all enjoy my layout.

Adventure's Out There- Rochelle Spears August Tic Tac Toe Challenge

Hello Everyone!

Traveling  is one of things that I enjoy the most.  I consider this as my reward for all the hard work that I have done and I especially enjoy this when I share it with the people that I love the most.  The picture I used in my entry for Rochelle Spears Tic tac toe challenge is the one taken with my mother and me during our trip to the wonderful island of Boracay in 2013.  I am so thankful that I was able to take my mom there let her enjoy for 3 wonderful days!  I really love my mom and I want to share to her my love for traveling.  It is also my way of showing her how much I love her and appreciate all the things she has done for me (yes, I am a certified and proud mama's girl!). We bonded a lot during our vacation and created a lot of memories which for sure I would cherish forever.  For the challenge, I used travel theme, kraft and quote.  The quote I used is from the Japanese poet Matsuo Basho which fits perfectly to our wanderlust, "Everyday is a journey, and the journey itself is home".  I hope you will enjoy my layout!

forever best friends

Hello Everyone!

I once saw a  random post in facebook wherein it states that if your friendship lasts more than seven years then it is most likely to last for a lifetime.  Well, we have known each other since we were high school (13 years ago to be exact!) I think it's a guaranteed friendship then.  Anyways, this photo was taken during the wedding of one of my close friends, Glaiza.  I think this is the perfect photo to match with the sketch at Let's Get Sketchy.  I cherish our friendship so much and I treat them like a sister. So I hope you all enjoy my layout!

puppy love

Hello Everyone!

In celebration of National Dog Day last August 26, I want to share to you a layout I made based on the  Sketches in thyme sketch 162.  I grew up having dogs as part of our family.  My father taught me to appreciate them and treat them as family.  Since I am an only child, my pet dogs are mostly my playmates when I was growing up.  For me, dogs are really man's best friend.  They don't judge you and all they want from you is your attention and affection.  I always look forward in going home after work knowing that my dogs will welcome me with such enthusiasm and will take away all my stress.  I love cuddling and playing with them.  Currently, I have 4 dogs and I love them so much.  The photo in my layout is one of my previous dogs.  I hope you all enjoy my layout and expect more doggie pictures in my future projects!

Party of Two-mini owner

Hello Everyone!

I want to share my layout based on the Me and Mine August Challenge.  The photos I used were from my mother's 71st birthday last year.   I had planned a surprise for my mother that year because I want to make her feel so special which she is.  And since it just the two of us now (my father passed away seven years ago), I want her to know that I will always try my best to make her happy.  I loved the look of her face when she opened the door to our room and I was there waiting with the cake and party hats (my dogs also wore party hats and I must say they were so cooperative that night and didn't take them off!). Even though I was just the one who surprised her I know she loved it and it was a success.  For me, my mother is the greatest person who have unconditionally loved and supported me (even my scrapbooking-addiction...:D).  She is my greatest fan and I know with her around, I could face anything.  So here is my layout and I hope you all like it!

Reunited at last-Stuck?! August Challenge

Hello everyone!

Real friendships formed last for a long time.  Even if time passes by, the memories created will still remain in our hearts and minds.  I want to share to you a layout I made based on the August 2nd half challenge over at Stuck?!.  The photo I used in this page is the one of me and my elementary classmate, Charlene.  We were classmates since Grade 2 until I graduated from elementary.  The last time I saw her was during our graduation since I transferred to another school in High school while she remained in our school.  This photo was taken during our impromptu reunion after 16 years!  Charlene and I were pretty close during grade school.  We've had our bonds and fights (pretty normal for kids) but still the friendship remained.  Although we rarely keep in touch (due to busy lives) but she will always remain a big part of my childhood.  I will always treasure the memories we had back then.  So here is my layout based on the sketch and I do hope you all like it.

Super fun night! -Sketches in Thyme August 3rd week

Hello Everyone,

Today I am sharing to you a layout I made based on the Sketches in Thyme August 3rd week challenge. The photos I used was taken during one of our get-together with my high school buddies.  High school is a big part of our lives.  This is where we start to create an identity for ourselves. It is also during high school that you can meet people that would later create a big impact on you.  Real friendships formed in highschool usually last long and as you mature together, you can learn a lot from each other. My friends and I got together during our junior year and since then we formed a great bond that until now is still exists.  We even named our group, 'd animalz since each if us had a corresponding animal nickname. Since I am so petite back then (okay, until now), I was called the lizard or in our language 'tiki'. We are not complete in the photo since many of them are already working overseas but I know that even though we are far apart, we always think of each other and will always have a special part in our lives.  What I loved mist of this photo is even though we have already grown up we still managed to remain youthful at heart and can still be goofy.

Research - Let's Get Sketchy August week 3

Hello Guys!

Here's the thing, back in college, one of our subjects requires to make a feasibility study on a proposed business approved by our professor.  Among top three proposals our group made (dormitory, funeral home, hotel) our professor chose the second one, which is the funeral home.  At first we were freaked out of the idea of studying the business of funeral homes but in the end, we had fun and realized that it is a very profitable.  We even had a blast conducting our study and interviewing the owner of one of the funeral homes in our city.  During that interview, we were just an hour late of witnessing an actual embalming but we were thankful that we didn't see it (picture this: the embalming area is in the back room of the parlor, eerily quiet and you are surrounded by different kind of coffins!).  But then again, it would have been nice to witness it as it would add more data for our research.  Anyways, we had to document our research so pictures were definitely taken (good thing nothing photobombed in the pics!..:D).  So as my entry in the Let's Get Sketchy August week 3 challenge, I decided to use some of the photos.  I wanted to preserve the funny albeit creepy memories of that day. Hope you all like it!

Party Time - Stuck?! August Challenge

Hello guys!

Birthdays always bring a smile to my face.  Not only because it signifies another blessed year but also it is an indicator of our maturity.  Well, some may dread getting old but not my mother.  She's the type of person who does not count the years but the blessings instead.  She does not admit being old but rather think that it is more important to be young at heart!  Since it's just the two of us now, I decided to throw her a surprise party, a party of two actually (hahaha).  But I was just so thankful that she is still here, healthy as ever, at the age of 71 (good thing she's not tech savvy, she's gonna be mad at me for divulging her real age...:p).  I love her so so much and she is the number one supporter of my hobby! I loved this photo of her and one my dogs (hachiko looks so funny in his birthday hat!).  So for the Stuck?! August Challenge, here is my layout featuring the most important person in my life right now, my ever beautiful and young at heart mother.

Feasib Break-Stick it Down August Challenge

Hello Everyone!

I have been feeling a bit nostalgic these past few days.  I felt the need to reminisce old memories especially during my student days.  So, I decided instead of using recent pictures for my layouts, I used the ones taken during my school days!  Remember the time when you all had a group project and you planned to spend the whole night making it but you all ended up just having fun and talking and taking funny pictures?  Well, that's what happened to us.  We were supposed to discuss our final strategy for the defense of our project proposal that night.  But as "good" students, that didn't happen.  We just the spent the night joking around and talking.  Maybe we were so stressed out the previous night that we decided to unwind lest having a mental breakdown!  Well anyways, I loved the talks and jokes and the bonds we made.  So for the Stick it down August Challenge, I used these photos to commemorate those times. Hope you enjoy my interpretation!

Thanks!

It's Over - GrandDiva's Creative Corner August Challenge

Hello guys!

It's me again sharing another fun layout based on the sketch challenge at GrandDiva's Creating Corner August Challenge. Most of the papers I used in this project is from DCWV Scrapbook Kit in a Stack-Color blocking line. The photos I used in this project was taken during my college days.  This was during the final defense of our Feasibility Study (Business Plan).  For the past semester we were very stressed.  Making the presentations, preparing the projected financial statements (for 5 years!!!) and finally facing the panelist who questioned everything we did, can really cause mental strain to us mere students.  But in spite of all the tears, the frustrations and the sleepless nights, it was finally over and we all had the reason to smile and goof around the camera.  Making this layout brought back a lot of fun memories of being a student and I really missed my groupmates.  So here is my layout and I hope you all like it!

Thanks!

Friendship Goals - sketches in thyme July 4th week

Hey guys!

It's the last day of the month and the last layout to enter (yey!).  I have enjoyed entering layouts for different challenges this month.  So for the last challenge, I wanted to share to you the layout I made for the  Sketches In Thyme July 4th week  challenge.  I had fun making this layout since I had used the scraps from my other projects and I think it turned up fine.  The photo I used  is the one with my college buddies.  I think this was taken during on of our impromptu dinner together.  The four of us have been friends since sophomore in college and until now the bond is still getting stronger.  We usually don't meet as often as we want to but when we do, we have so much fun catching up.  Two of them already have kids and we all adore them.  We are actually looking forward who will be next.  I hope you all enjoy my layout!
